Where innovators and founders converge
The Founders Forum Smart Nation Singapore 2015 event kicked off with a bang last evening at the Istana in Singapore, with the country’s Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong as the Guest-of-Honour. Over 200 founders, investors and VIPs from technology giants across Asia, Europe and the US were in attendance for the first ever London-based Founders Forum to be held in Asia.
In his speech, Mr Lee spoke vibrantly about building a holistic entrepreneurship culture in Singapore; a culture where chasing dreams, sparking bright ideas, daring to fail are strongly encouraged. In addition, Mr Lee also said that Singapore would be the perfect testing ground for new innovations due to its small size and ability to integrate newly introduced projects quickly.
In keeping up with Singapore’s vision of becoming a Smart Nation, Singapore has opened its doors to these 200 founders, investors and VIPs and the world in a bid to solve difficult urban problems with technology. This event is made possible with the collaboration between Founders Forum and the Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore (IDA).
For those who have not heard about Founders Forum, they are a private network of over 3000 leading technology entrepreneurs. Since its inception in 2006, they have lead technology gatherings mainly in London but has spread its reach to hold events in the US, Brazil, India and Turkey.
The conference will include interactive panel discussions given by notable speakers from the industry and interactive panel discussions that focus on the future of technology with connectivity, mobility and healthcare.
