TechStorm Ramps up Distribution in Taiwan via New Expansion partnership With Chunghwa Telecom MOD

Taipei/Singapore, 2 June 2022 – TechStorm, Southeast Asia’s fastest growing and de facto largest media entertainment network with esports, gaming and tech thematic content has announced further expansion in the Taiwanese market, striking a new partnership with Taiwan’s largest telecommunications company Chunghwa Telecom on its leading IPTV service Multimedia On Demand (MOD) and their OTT platform Hami Video.

The carriage deal will massively increase TechStorm’s reach in Taiwan and marks the first time the network’s content is available on TV locally, supported by Traditional Chinese subtitles. This launch comes off the back of the company’s steady stream of expansion announcements in Asia as well as plans to prepare for IPO plans by 2024.

“The launch of TechStorm on MOD, one of the biggest multimedia platforms in East Asia with a reach exceeding two million, is a huge milestone for our presence within the region. Cognisant of the incredible growth in Taiwan’s game market in 2021 – esports has seen an engagement increase of more than 30% – as well their player base that uniquely spans across all three segments of mobile, console and PC, there is tremendous opportunity in catering to the content consumption trends among the predominantly young demographic in the territory. We look forward to having our viewers experience TechStorm’s one-of-a-kind value proposition of the best-in-class entertainment on esports, tech and Web3.0 topics over IPTV,” says Debbie Lee, Founder & CEO of TechStorm.

TechStorm’s rapid growth in the past 2.5 years is a strong testimony to the content appetite and robust interest in its unique intersection of esports and tech centric entertainment. Starting June, viewers can look forward to tuning in to Making the Squad: FIFA Edition, the world’s first esports reality competition in Berlin, accompanied with Traditional Chinese subtitles. Airing every Friday at 9pm (Taiwan), ten of the most engaging FIFA streamers will not only be tested on their FIFA 21 gaming skills, but also in a series of exciting and dynamic FIFA 21-inspired in-real-life (IRL) challenges.
